About Me

WHO:
My name is Kristen Unruh Hess. I am a webmaster, newsletter writer, computer graphic creator, blogger, and general all-around designer.

WHAT:
I enjoy learning something new every day. I’m addicted to tutorials and DIY posts, magazines and blogs. I love to stay current with new techniques, applications and tutorials to help tie all facets of my life together. I love to create online and off as I am an aspiring quilter and beginner sewer. I also crochet, knit, sculpt and in general have fun with art.

WHEN:
I currently work full time as an online marketing specialist, in the evenings you’ll usually find me back in front of my computer blogging, in the craft room sewing, or enjoying the company of my husband and 2 kids, watching movies or reading.

WHERE:
I like to say I’m a nouveau Texan. Although I was born in Philadelphia, PA, I lived most of my adult life out in rural Pennsylvania until the chance presented itself for a transfer to Texas. It was the best thing that ever happened to us. As they say, I’m not from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could. Truer words have never been spoken.

WHY:
Certain things in life make each of us tick. I have discovered that I’m not completely happy unless I’m challenging myself every day. I enjoy learning new methods to do the things I love, discovering new online applications, finding new sources of inspiration and then putting them to work in my life with my own unique spin and slightly quirky edge imposed on them.

HOW:
My maiden name is Unruh, that’s German for unruly I’m told. My maiden name fit my creative personality to a tee. Early on I learned to love creating with a twist. If I was taught a technique, I was anxious to learn and master it, if only to figure out a way to change it into something that spoke uniquely to me.
