I was working on this ad for my “day job”.
then it hit me… What a great idea! You can purchase trees through the Arbor Day Foundation to help rebuild forests that have been devastated by fire. It’s something that we’ve decided to do at my day job, and why not continue the trend with my “2nd job”. So, for every sale I make through April, I will purchase a tree through the Arbor Day Foundation. I hope you’ll check out the store and find something cute for yourself or someone you love and at the same time [...]

Take your pick
I just got some great news! You may remember the Baby Bumblebee spring crochet headband I posted about a while back, well it was selected to be added to CraftCritque’s Spring Carnival.
There’s some really great stuff there and a lot of the projects have tutorials (which I LOVE). Head on over and look around. Maybe I’ll see you over there!
Well, it’s a very exciting day for me. I’ve been doing a lot of research and creating a lot of graphics with the help of my girl. I just love these little caricatures she does and I think, for simple drawings, they portray a lot of personality. So, she drew my little “unruly art class” full of students with me as their teacher. I scanned them in to Illustrator and vectorized them and colored them in. Then all I had to do was give them an environment and hang some “art” on the wall. So, I hope [...]
I’ve started the process to turning the girl’s sketches into artwork. So far, I’ve got Christy done. Here she is in vivid living color:

So I had this grand idea to give you a glimpse into my girl’s fun cartoon caricatures. We sat down and thought about people we know or have known who fit this image of the “Unruly Art Class” and she drew them up for me. They will now live on the website and inspire me and my projects going forward. Each student has his or her own unique personality and they all have a lot to offer. You may recognize some of the personalities from your own experiences. And look forward to the kids making their way into the [...]
My daughter did the caricature, I embroidered it
Here’s Grammy
Here's Goopy (see the resemblance)
Here’s a little glimpse into a partnership I’m working on with my very talented daughter. She started drawing these cute little cartoonish caricatures of her friends when she was a senior in high school. I thought they were so precious and really captured a likeness, while being really cute so I had her draw her Grammy and Goopy and then I embroidered over her sketch and we gave it to them for Christmas. It was so well received, I’ve decided that we [...]
I have my baby girl coming home tonight and she and I are going to collaborate on a secret project. Ssshhhh!
I can’t talk about it yet, but it’s sure to illustrate the name of my blog a little better.
Be sure to check back and check out her work. Hopefully we’ll have a post about it and a little redesign of the site up by the end of the weekend.
