The end of an era-Harry Potter

If you haven’t seen “literal trailers” yet, they’re really funny. I saw the first one at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin (which is my favorite place in the entire world to go). This video combines two of my favorite things…memories of the Alamo Drafthouse and Harry Potter. Just watch and laugh. Then be sure you go see the final HP movie because “this movie is extremely important”.

4th of July Dress in Action

I couldn’t ask for a cuter model. Here is little Ava in the Independence Day Applique Dress. She is such a cute, sweet little girl and I’m so glad the dress fit her. Now if we can get her brother to keep his hat on his head The tall girl in the above pic is my girl, and that handsome man next to her is her boyfriend. The kids are his neice and nephew. Cake Decorating Basics Class 1

Tonight was my first Wilton Cake Decorating Basics class. It was very exciting. My teacher, in a word, was amazing. I wanted to ask her for her autograph. I can’t wait to hear the rest of her fascinating stories. She’s even going to have some of her cakes featured on an upcoming episode of Rachel Ray. Can’t wait to see it.

My husband is not an overly emotional guy. And I don’t need him to be. He is very funny and fun to be with. He’s got a great sense of humor, and he’s still the first person I call when I have good news to share, or need some support in a bad time. Sewing, Food and the Super Bow

This has been such an exciting weekend for me.

First: My favorite NFL team, the Steelers are here in Texas preparing to play in their 8th Super Bowl, Super Bowl 45. although we had planned on making the drive to Dallas, that fell through, but we are carrying on the excitement here at home, planning a delicious spread of food.

Word Cloud + Silverlight = Tagxedo

My twittery friend @sparks_austin tweeted me to check out Tagxedo this morning. She said it was a silvercloud based wordle. Being the geek I am I had to check it out right away. So, I loaded up the interface with all the handmade goodness I could and this is what it gave me. Halloween-the start of crafting season

That time of the year when the crafty get craftier. It all starts with Halloween. There’s an easy way to spot which kids have the crafty moms at home. No store bought costumes allowed on my kids aside from some years when I let my darling son wear his spiderman and batman costumes. I know it, you can say it, I’m a nerd…a geek…a dork. I don’t care! I LOVE Harry Potter. And just to prove it, I’m taking my family +1 nephew to Universal Studios Orlando to see Hogwarts Castle in person. I can’t even tell you how excited we are. Me, the husband, the boy and the girl went a few years back and we loved Universal, but when we heard they were opening the Harry Potter section, I got all ferklempt.

Pin·terest (pĭn’trĭst): n. a place to share visual collections of things you love

This is a new website, one that I have been lucky enough to get invited to join. What it entails is that you “pin” pictures of things you love as you find them online. Kind of like weheartit.com , kind of like polyvore.com, but pinterest seems to me more organized and useful. Basically, you create virtual inspiration boards on different themes or topics and you can share or follow boards or even single pins.
