Mothers Day Purse

Ooh, I just finished making this purse and it’s exactly what I want for mother’s day. This is my favorite fabric in my stash and I’ve been wanting to combine crochet and fabric for quite some time now. This is what I got when I finally sat down and made something to mix the two together. What do you think?

If you’re a mom, what are you hoping to get for mother’s day?

If you’re not a mom, what are you giving your mom for mother’s [...]

New Orleans Saints Hat

I came across some pictures that made me smile today, so I just wanted to share them with you.

At the close of 2009 excitement was building in our house around who would be in the Super Bowl. While my Steelers didn’t make it, New Orleans did. And I have a friend who is like the biggest Saints fan EVER! So, I set out to make her a fun Saints hat.

There was no pattern for the fleur-de-lis, so i made it up as I went along. I wish I would have written it down, because a [...]

Weekend Stock Up

I finished a couple of projects this weekend. I had this little froggie all planned out in my head. He didn’t turn out exactly as I thought he would, but he’s still pretty cute. I did a whole photo shoot with the little guy. He’s super soft-made from that Red Heart Moon & Stars yarn I reviewed last week.

I <heart> him.

Also, my goddaughter, Ashley, is now very much into penguins. So I set out to craft her up some cute penguins. I got two done, each with a slightly different look.  Which one do you like [...]

I'm finally finished

I just finished a custom order I had for 2 flower girl gifts and 1 ring bearer gift. I’m really happy with how they turned out.  Wanna see some pictures?

Baby Bumblebee at CraftCritique

I just got some great news! You may remember the Baby Bumblebee spring crochet headband I posted about a while back, well it was selected to be added to CraftCritque’s Spring Carnival.

There’s some really great stuff there and a lot of the projects have tutorials (which I LOVE). Head on over and look around.  Maybe I’ll see you over there!

Crochet Floral Headband Photo Shoot

My girl and her bff were sweet enough to do a little photo shoot for me modeling these great little floral crocheted headbands with sweet little button centers and button closures.

Check ‘em out! What do you think?

Awww, my girls. They are just too precious for words. It’s such a fun shoot. And, I get the young lady seal of approval on a new product for my etsy shop.  Thanks, ladies [...]

Flower Girl Gift

I’m so excited today because I was asked to make some gifts for the children in the March 27th wedding of my friend Lori and her fiance Kevin. There’s not a lot of time to plan and work, so we got right down to it. We decided to do a bridal owl for each of the girls and the ring bearer is going to get my version of the BoBo Brothers (which I learned today is a pair of monkeys on the Nick Jr show, Diego).

Anyway, I just finished the first bridal owl and I have to [...]

Coloring the Class

I’ve started the process to turning the girl’s sketches into artwork. So far, I’ve got Christy done. Here she is in vivid living color:

Sweet Baby Bumblebee

I’ve been so inspired by the bee-utiful weather here in Texas this weekend, that I’ve left behind the crocheted hat making and started making sweet little crochet headbands. First I made two for my girl and her bff. Then I was asked to make a baby headband for a friend of my girl’s baby niece. So, inspired by the cutest little pom pom headband I saw on RedVelvetArt.com, I decided to make a sweet baby bumble bee headband. Hopefully, I’ll get photos of it on the baby’s head. Until then, here’s the baby bumble bee headband.  What do you [...]

My Love of Owls

My affection for owls started on a shopping trip to Target of all places. It was around Valentines Day 2009 and I saw the cutest little owl – but he was a pot scrubber.

cutest pot scrubber EVER

I immediately fell in love with his big brown eyes and his heart feathers and I knew that if I tried hard enough I could make a little owl of my own and when I did, I could love him and hug him and pet him. Sorry, I was really smitten with this owl.

So, I got out some pink cotton [...]
